
Watermelon Tanghulu
@alexawhatsfordinner was very excited about these watermelons (especially the yellow one๐), so she decided to tanghulu them! ๐ Tanghulu is a candied fruit snack originating from China and itโs delightful.
Instructions

Use small cookie cutters to punch out shapes from the watermelon flesh, or use a knife to cut into small squares or your desired shapes.

Prepare an ice bath in a medium bowl.

In a medium nonstick pan, combine the sugar and water. Melt together over medium heat and continue cooking until the temperature reaches 300ยฐF (150ยฐC).

Secure a watermelon shape onto a heat-safe skewer. Dip the skewer into the hot sugar mixture to coat the watermelon evenly, then immediately dunk in the ice bath; the sugar should harden and turn glossy on the outside of the fruit. Repeat with the remaining watermelon.
